Levi's Brand

To take a different approach than I typically do, this particular post will have a fairly serious tone. In a world where everything is sold by sex, it's hard to commit to not buying any brand that uses sex to sell (we'd all have to go back to sustenance farming). However, recently Levi's Brand sunk to a new low that I find absolutely despicable. For those of you who have not seen the new commercial, there are two kids, a boy and a girl, no older than 16 (quite possibly younger) who slowly and suggestively remove their clothing as they talk about how it's their "first time". They strip all the way down to their underwear and then the punch-line of the commercial comes when we find out they were just talking about jumping off a platform into a lake which "necessitated" the removal of their clothes.

In a world where teen pregnancy is at an all-time high and where teens tend to believe that "everyone" is doing it, Levi's Brand has sunk to an all-time low by glorifying the sinful acts that cause teen pregnancy. In a commercial nonetheless! We all know there are certain TV shows, movies, websites, etc. that are not appropriate for people of any age to see, let alone easily-influenced teens and children; but when commercials are allowed to glorify children giving up their chastity, it's getting to the point where it's scary just to turn on the TV.

Rachel and I have made the decision to never buy anything that is made by Levi Brand again. And while I do not pretend or desire to force a personal decision on anyone else, my purpose in writing this post is to encourage anyone who reads it to seriously consider their financial support of a new front-runner in the degeneration or our society.

i suggest you also write to the company. If you don't tell someone why they offended you, they won't ever change. If you try telling them.. There is a chance (small as it may be) that they will change.

Ryan,

You may also want to join and report this to 1 Mm dads. This is a group that monitors this stuff and get thousands to send e-mails etc. It doesn't require a cost to join - although they do accept donations - and they are effective.
