To kill a cat...

Here I am. It's been a while since I last blogged. Life's been isanely busy. As Rachel left it open for me to tell a story, let me just summarize by saying that the biblical talk was going to go something like this, "In the day that thou enterest into our room, thou shalt surely die." Both of the cats decided to claw at and play with my backpack today. Pests.

This last week I spent a record 23 hours detailing a boat that might still need some touch-up work later this week. That cut in pretty dramatically to interview preparation, but generated some much-needed income. Otherwise I've been running like mad, along with Rachel (though she's been doing most of the work), to get things moved in, organized, and settled. Last week I got to come home from a long day of work for the first time to a meal prepared by my wife. She's great. Married life is pretty sweet thus far.

Our second reception was something of a disappointment to me. I sent out apprx. 60 invitations to my "close and personal friends" and only 6 showed up. That was kind of a bummer.

With school starting tomorrow, I've been spending the day trying to get ahead in my reading so I have more time to practice case studies and otherwise get ready for interviews this week. I recently found out that I would not be getting the TA postion I was hoping for. The professor made it a point to tell me that I came in second, losing the position only because the winning candidate had taken the class from him, whereas I had taken it from a different (and better) professor. So, I'll be TAing the same class I did summer term (Econ 257: International Trade and Finance). Fortunately, however, I will be TAing under a different professor who is far more organized and has a better reputation.

Well I know that most of what I've said has been negative, but life is really very sweet. I look forward to school starting, to interviews, and to knowing where we'll be next summer pretty soon.
