New Job

So in case I haven't informed you, I've been looking for a new job. Last week I had walked into a camera store. I figured it was similar enough to what I've been doing at my current job. Well, they weren't hiring, but said I could bring in a resume. I was discouraged and came back to the car. Ryan said I should go into the art and frame store that was next door to it. I hadn't even seen the store. I was hesitent, but decided to go ahead, I figured there was nothing to lose.

I walked in and the nice girl working said they actually were looking for someone to hire. She told me to bring in my resume, so I got it all ready and Monday I did. I met the manager and she seemed really nice. I really wanted this job. She sent me an email Tuesday asking if 20-25 hours would be ok. She knew I was looking for more, but when the holidays approached that there would be more work. She also told me she was looking at a couple of other candidates and would let me know soon. I wrote her back and said anything would be fine. I really wanted this job. Even if it is a little less pay and not as many hours as I would like (at least for now) it would be significantly better just because I love art and anything to do with it.

I'm really tired of my job. Sitting long hours at a computer. Not feeling like what I'm doing is any real use to anyone. I used to really like my job, but things have changed. It's time to move on.

Well I got a voice mail Wednesday night from the manager and she said she would like to talk to me. I was in class late on Wednesday so I didn't get a chance to talk to her, but she left me her cell phone number because Thursday would be her day off. Good sign right? She wouldn't tell me to call her if she wasn't going to hire me? At least I hoped. I called Thursday morning and got her machine. She called me back, but I was at work. I called her at lunch thinking, will the torture never end?



Well I got a hold of the manager and she said that they would love to have me. I was so excited! I got the job! I'm going in first thing Tuesday morning. I'm so excited that I want to check out some books from the library here about framing and such. I think I got the job because I actually took a class on Framing and Matting last year. Maybe I was the only one willing to work the hours. I don't know, but I got it!
