A lot bad drivers out there...

There are a lot of really lousy drivers on the road. I'm certainly one of them. My most recent ticket, however, was in January, and I'm feeling pretty optimistic about my ability to make it a few years without an accident or a ticket! You can imagine, then, why I was pretty freaked out the other day when, as I was driving my grandparent's truck, a car slammed into the back of me while I was stopped at a roundabout.

I looked in my rear-view-mirror and saw that the hood of the car that had just hit me was pretty damaged. Fearing the worst, I pulled into a church parking lot nearby and they followed. Thoughts of my insurance rates shooting up even higher danced in my head. It was a young driver, probably 17, who had hit me. He was freaking out and apologizing as I walked around to the back of the truck. To my surprise, there wasn't a single scratch - no evidence at all that I had been hit. After examining the large square hole in the hood of the other car, I realized that he had smashed right into the trailer hitch, leaving a square hole that stretched about six inches long. Can't tell you how grateful I was not to be driving my car!
