Updates

It's been a long time since I've posted something. The last three months or so I've been submitting applications to every place imaginable looking for an internship. While this has been very time consuming, it has also been completely uninteresting to write about. Tommy has made fun of me for dedicating so much time to Guitar Hero because it's, "All I ever talk about." While I hardly think that between 30 minutes and an hour per week constitutes a lot of time, it has been the only interesting thing to report on. So lets start with that...

I beat Tom Morello on expert and have made it several songs past him. This is an exceptional accomplishment and I must applaud myself. I'm yet to beat Lou on Hard, however. I had him down to almost nothing left on his rock meter and had a "lefty" attack left in my arsenal. Then I made a fatal error... I raised my guitar to hit him with the attack without looking at his screen. It turns out that he had no notes to hit for the duration of the attack. (sigh) I'll get him eventually.

Moving on, all of my applications are starting to pay off. First I interviewed with the finance department of Ford. When they called to give me the results of my interviews they said, "We don't have any positions to offer right now, but we really want you to have the opportunity to work for us. We're hopeful a position will open in the next two-three weeks that we can offer you." So, while it's not my top pick as a place to work, it was good to know that I could perform well. I've had a few other interviews not worth mentioning. On my schedule for the next week include an interview with Boston Consulting Group for a summer consultant position, Goldman Sachs for an investment banking position in New York, and then I'll be flying out to L.A. to interview with Monitor Group for a summer consultant position. I found out about all of these interviews within a few days of each other. I'm currently scrambling to get ready for them the best I can with a limited time frame. Hopefully they go well.

I wish you well on your interviews! It is always a scary process, so keep calm and eat your favorite treat after your interviews, it always helps.
Don't mind Tommy and my teasing you playing guitar hero. It is just a joke. We know you are busy. It is all about getting a rise out of you.
